Nouns and Pronouns

Nouns are naming words.  They represent a person place or thing.  Nouns function as the subject, direct object, indirect object, or other items in the sentence.

Pronouns are words that are shorthand replacements for nouns.  Pronouns are words like "he", "she", "anyone" etc.  It is helpful to ask which noun the pronoun represents (called the antecedent).  The antecedent is usually implied in the context.
