The Indirect Object: The Receiver of the Direct Object
The Subject does the action (verb) to the Direct Object. Sometimes, the Direct Object is directed to something else. The word that describes the intended goal of the Direct Object is called the Indirect Object.
The Indirect Object:
The indirect object is the word that describes who or what indirectly receives the action of the sentence by receiving the direct object.
The Indirect Object is highlighted in the following sentence.
