The Adverbs are highlighted in the following sentences.
Describing a verb.
Adverbs:
Adverbs give information that describes a verb, usually by telling the manner in which the action takes place. e.g. "How did Mrs. Smith go?" - "She went quickly." An adverb describes a particular action of the verb to more precisely describe it. A verb may be described by more than one adverb. The word "not" can be considered a specific type of adverb which negates the action.
Hint: Adverbs can be located by asking "How (verb)?" e.g. "How did he catch?" "How did she come?"
