Modifiers: The Flesh Surrounding the Sentence Skeleton
Each of the main skeleton parts of the sentence may be elaborated and described by other words and phrases. These modifiers add further information about the skeleton ideas. There are a number of ways that the skeleton can be modified. Some of these ways are:

Adjectives modify the subject, the direct or indirect objects.

Adverbs modify the verb.

Prepositional Phrases modify the verb, subject, direct or indirect objects.
