Adverbs: Modifying Verbs
Adverbs give information that describes a verb, usually by telling the manner in which the action takes place.
e.g. How did Mrs. Smith go? - She went quickly.
An adverb describes a particular action of the verb to more precisely describe it.
English adverbs typically end in -ly.
A verb may be described by more than one adverb.
The word not can be considered a specific type of adverb which negates the action.
